Party funds case: PTI requests Supreme Court to form commission

ISLAMABAD– Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has requested the Supreme Court to form a commission to probe the party’s funding case. During hearing of the case, PTI lawyer Anwar Mansoor argued that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is neither tribunal nor a court to determine collection of funds through prohibited means. We suggest formation of a commission to probe the matter, he added.

ISPR rejects Indian claim of destroying Pakistani post across LoC

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army has rejected Indian claims of destroying Pakistani post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera sector. Also, Pakistani forces didn’t commit any ceasefire violation across the working boundary or targeted civilians as claimed by India, according to Inter-Services Public Relations on Tuesday. In a latest press release, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said, “Indian claims of destroying Pakistani post along LoC in Naushera Sec and firing by Pakistan Army on civilians across LoC are false.”

Social media an unorganised platform: Nisar

(Web Desk) – Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday has said that the social media is an unorganised platform and that anyone could register for a fake handle. While addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Nisar said that a committee was formed to monitor flow of information for safeguarded national stability. ISLAMABAD – Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Noor Alam Khan has joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The announcement was made in the capital where ex-MNA was accompanied with PTI lawmaker Jehangir Khan Tareen. While media talk, Noor Alam Khan said corrupt people are being preferred in PPP. Mastermind behind Quetta police facility attack arrested

QUETTA (AFP) - Balochistan Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti said Tuesday the law enforcement agencies have arrested the mastermind behind several attacks that killed scores of people in the restive southwest, including a devastating blast targeting lawyers in the city of Quetta last year. Officials in Balochistan province released video showing the confession of the alleged militant, named as Saeed Ahmad Badini, a former madrassa student in his early thirties.

48 pc drug addicts in Pakistan suffering from HIV/AIDS: UN survey

KARACHI – The United Nations (UN) expressed concerns after conducting a survey in Pakistan which revealed that 48 percent of drug addicts here are suffering from HIV/AIDS. The survey, involving more than 37 thousand drug addicts, was carried out in 14 cities including Karachi, Bahawalpur and Kasur on those who inject drugs in their bodies with syringes. The UN survey report unearthed alarming facts that 24 thousand drug addicts in Karachi have been tested positive to HIV/AIDS.
