63 outfits, 8333 persons placed under fourth schedule

A total of 8,333 persons have been placed under fourth schedule on directives of federal and provincial governments whereas 5023 banks accounts have been frozen thus far.

Three outfits have been tagged as banned while three are in watch list. Likewise, amount worth Rs400 million has been seized.

Sources privy to development narrated that Jamaat-ud-Dawa’ chief Hzafiz Saeed and his four aides named Obaidullah Obaid, Zafar Iqbal, Abdur Rehman and Qazi Kashaf Niaz have also been placed under fourth schedule. State Bank of Pakistan has also been informed about the latest developments in bid to monitor fiscal transactions. Meanwhile, a list has also been forwarded to intelligence agencies including Inter Service Intelligence.

As per officials associated with interior ministry, persons placed under fourth schedule are compelled to submit a surety bond in district police headquarters that they would not indulge in any subversive activity.
